We are all still terribly, terribly fucked up about our geography and the cultural idioms that we were raised with.

English is a popular language.

The people who speak it largely mis-trust one another.

Funny has different Bell curves.

So does culture.

A lot of people resent the shit out of America.

Writing comedy is sometimes more difficult that drawing it.

We all have some semblance of an aspect to our upbringing that tells us that we already know that what is wrong is wrong.

We all laugh and cry when things are respectively good or bad.

Wirthling sucks.

  • We are largely a bunch of sarcastic, cynical geeks.
  • Despite being a bunch of sarcastic, cynical geeks, we have soft underbellies.

Not much to add to the above statements right now excpet for a couple of personal reflecions:

That I'm capable of being far funnier than I ever thought I was...

That I'm nowhere near as funny as a lot of other people, and that comedy likely isn't a viable career move for me...

- I've learned the difference between assertiveness and aggressiveness

- I've learned some html and UBB codes for the first time. (Sad, I know.)

- I've learned you can come to value the opinions most of those who agree with you least.

- I've learned there is a mathematical formula for funny just waiting to be discovered.

- I've learned being funny in person is much easier than in comics because of the use of iNfLeCtIoN.

- I've learned that if you feel like quitting after 300 comics, it's a good idea to shut the fuck up and write a couple hundred more instead.

- I've learned that bunnerabb hates andydougan's sig.

- I've learned that you get more bees with honey than by saying "Here bees" and clicking your tongue.

- I've learned that learnt is a word.

Ah've laerned hoow tae speak Scoatish!

I've learned everything I know about quantum tunneling.

I've learned that there is an appropriate forum for anger and vitriol, and it's called "Fights Go Here".

I've learned that my girlfriend just doesn't appreciate quality humor like Mr. Broccoli Head and skeet-shooting comics.

I've learned that taking a weak joke, interfacing it with various historical or current events and other weak jokes, and eventually running it into the ground is always, always funny. And I mean that seriously.

I've learned that "pants" is apparently slang for "bad" in some backwards part of the world, which in turn has led me to realize that, the phenomenon of popular culture notwithstanding, some things are just universally and incorrigibly dumb.

I've learned some of the things other people have learned too.

Kabul clearly resembles Argyle Street on a saturday night at 2am anyway.

Im sure he could flatten those listed buildings that the developers keep trying to get permission to knock down and build something useful on.

I live in Cleveland.

That's in the North Central US, just south of Canada.

Gabe does, too.

We have several large buildings, and miles of lakeshore on Lake Erie. That's one of the Great Lakes.

The Great Lakes are the second largest body of fresh water in the world. Lake Baikal in Russia is larger.

Real estate in Cleveland is relatively inexpensive when compared to other large cities.

We coined the phrase "Rock and Roll", and Greater Cleveland audiences support more live music performance than any city in the world.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is here in Cleveland.

We have more liquor licenses per capita in Cuyahoga county than damn near anywhere else. Cleveland drinks.

We used to be a huge industrial centre.

More syndicated cartoonists are from Greater Cleveland than anywhere else.

Now, read this every day until you want to belt me one.

That's what he means.

Cleveland also has the Cleveland Clinic, widely considered the premiere medical facility in the U.S.

This behemoth has swallowed up more real estate than Manifest Destiny, and boasts the finest medical research, surgical, transplant, and kidney treatment centres in the world. It also has Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital. This is regarded as the finest pediatric care facility in the world as well.

The Cleveland Orchestra is also regarded as without peer in the classical music community, and performs at Severance Hall; a venue with incredible acoustics. If you love classical music, then you must see the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall once in your life. It is a moving experience.

And we got some fuckoff cool burger joints, too.

I've learned that if you have a pretty picture posted on the internet that you can be accepted by anyone.

I haven't really learned this, but it is more inforced in my mind now. Love is one of those funny things. You can love and care for someone you've never met more than you can love your own father.

And I've learned how to eat a chocolate chip cookie and pretend I'm not American. I think.
