It is working out pretty well if you are going to care about the olympics this is a good time to do it (they are on currently).

total medal count, gold isn't better than silver or bronze. that's kind of what the total means. as in all. medals. all medals. total.

the olympics mean about as much to me as the Polack races we hold here in the sewers, but it just seems silly to say that the americans aren't really winning in total medal count, when what you're really arguing is that the chinese olympic showing is stronger than the americans because of their large lead in gold medals. something most people would probably agree with, especially those that think you still lose your baby teeth at 16

China has won 46 events. USA has won 29. USA has more medals but coming third is not as good as coming first. The proper way to order the medal tally is by gold, not be total. I didn't mean USA weren't winning in total medal count, I meant the table was sorted the wrong way to put America first instead of second.

Well, this is the last straw.  I'm renouncing my citizenship.
