Anyone experiencing a ton of down voting or is it just me? everytime i log on one of my comics has been down voted.

yeah it happens to everyone. it's known as matclarke's law:

"Got three votes and your on the pending list, drinks for everyone! You're a fat cat. Finally, you get that fourth vote that ushers you up to the highest echelon. Sweet Jesus the air smells great! Life is good. Tell your friends how funny and talented you are. Write home to grandma. Bask in the glory that will be swiftly ripped out of your heart. Because as soon as it’s known that a strip is rated a 9 or 10, that same strip will be promptly kicked in the junk and dropped like a herpes laden mug."

Don't forget kids, the more 'good' votes you have, the bigger your penis is.

I'm not sure if any of my comics have been down voted, but a new comic has popped into my top 10 comics.

To put what Mandingo said another way, it works like this:

People who like your comics and read you regularly vote your comics Good because they like you, so the early votes on the strip are all or mostly "Good."  Then once it has enough votes other users will see it on Top Rated and the front page and will think it is either Good, Okay, or Bad.  Basically, a larger audience is weighing in and not everyone will think the comic is Good.  That's how the strips lose points.  

I know some people think there are users out there who are out to get them or that take joy in knocking comics down, but I've never subscribed to that theory.

I'm a strong believer in the matclarke's law; it seems like the second I'm on that list the down voting begins... I know I'm not the funniest guy out there but I can have a comic on the top rated list then leave and come back 15 minutes later and the comic will no longer be in my own 10 Top rated comics... and this is the reason why I lost all hope, love, and trust in people.

Perhaps Brad should just rename it Over Rated.

Bask in your temporary fame, snapshot the screen for your photoalbum and then accept the inevitable.

You shouldn't put too much stock in a comics rating anyway, just take it as a compliment someone actually took the trouble to read it in the first place and then rate it, and regardless of whether they thought it was good or bad,  it'll be etched in their conciousness for all eternity, eating at their soul, changing their pespective on all things that come after.  Will any of us ever look at rotor turbines or big red robots the same way after visiting this site? I think not.

Besides all the cool comics are  rated in the 7s anyway.
