The Stan comics are entertaining. If I ever use that character in a comic I will not call him "Stan" in deference to these comics. I may in the future call other characters "Stan", but not this particular one. I think someday I might do a comic called "I Am Not Stan" and use the Stan character, but I will not actually call him Stan.

I have a brother-in-law named Stan, but I will continue to call him Stan. He has nothing to do with these "Stan" comics as far as I know. But from now on, if I ever meet anyone named Stan I will refuse to call him Stan. Most likely I will call him "dude" or something, but not Stan.

In retrospect, I remember seeing those strips. Damn, I thought my Stan character seemed so original at the time. Oh well, original ideas blah blah blah original sin blah blah blah.
