It was actually me. In honor of Dan's birthday, I made all the banners break. Later today I'm going to reverse the rotation of the earth and we're all going to go shooting off into space.

This is the weirdest collection of messages I think I have ever seen.

Yeah, but doesn't it doesn't it give you kind of a warm fuzzy feeling to know that we'd give up our ice cream sandwich to help out?

Sadly, there have totally been times when I've needed an MSDOS 5.0 disk. And not too long ago, really.

Hell, I'm surprised we managed to collect $34.20. What currency is that in?

I'm not sure, but when I took it to the currency exchange window, they said the only thing they could give me for it was three pound of dryer lint or a roll of aluminum slugs.

You know, I kind of liked those "INVALID ACCOUNT" banners. Very bold, no-nonsense statements. Comforting, in a Big Brother sort of way. You're sure there's not some way we can click on them to raise money for the site?

No, but mailing me sacks and sacks of money works pretty decent and is probably less likely to cause carpal tunnel syndrome.

I suppose that "Letting all my base be belonging to you" wouldn't help any?

See, if I had money, I would have gone straight for that idea. But unfortunately, I'm one of the people who's looking for a job, not one of the people who's moving.

Seriously, though, the site's not going to go down or anything, is it? Because if it were, I could find some money. I mean, since the Strip Creator has become more important to me than eating. Have you investigated other methods of raising funds (Cafe' Press, PayPal, this newfangled "Amazon Honor System" thingy)?

I wouldn't worry just yet. We're looking into alternatives to begging, as it's not really a viable long term solution. We could probably get a few bucks out of people up front, which would be helpful in the short term, but isn't exactly a sustainable revenue stream. The bills, they keep on coming. Donations -- understandably -- tend to dry up fairly quickly.

Something people can do to help is spread the strip creator around as much as they can. If we get enough traffic I can possibly get our host to pay us a lot of money to go away.

J.
