This is a real book that I got from the Traveler Restaurant in Union, Connecticut ("Free book with every meal!"). The only reason I chose it was because the title amused me ("Hmmm... must be the Scottish Kama Sutra!"). It does, however, contain 15 illustrations in halftone of sheep, sheepdogs, men, and their wives.

Strangely, I haven't been able to find any information about Robert Blackwood Robertson. Was he a well-known Scottish author?

I have flipped through the book and I can tell you that it is not a comedy. That's what makes the title so funny.

Of Whales And Men was a best-seller about the time he served as the medical officer on one of the largest whaling expeditions of 1950. At least, that is what bio on the dust jacket says.

I'm just pleased that the Scots are warm and human as opposed to cold and alien. That would be disturbing.
