Well I just sepnet an ASSLOAD of time playing quake 2 on zone.com, which is why I was not here. I totally SUCK at that game.

First of all, I'm on a 56k, so I couldn't host my own games without other people leaving cuz of lag, and second of all, I CAN'T FIND A COMFORTABLE KEYBOARD SETUP.

But enough about me, how was your day?

So...anyone up for some Quake 2?

I'm on DSL, baby... and playing Return to Wolfenstein. Very cool multiplayer. You can take on all kinds of roles (e.g., an Engineer plants dynamite and fixes stuff, medics heal people, Liutentants arrange airstrikes by throwing smoke grenades.

I wouldn't try it on 56K, though.

I've been outside. And in broad daylight, too! I'm still recovering from the blisters, but it was worth it.

It got up to something like 60 degrees F here in Connecticut... in January. Amazing.

Let's hear it for global warming!

Yay!

I do think it's strange to walk around in a tshirt in January... puts a whole new spin on the wintery theme.

Hmmmm. It's 8 degrees C here, and we've got 90mph winds. The roof of the office across the street just blew off. Well, parts of it.

I saw a chimney collapse a few hours ago, and at lunchtime I got blown into the path of a lorry.

Damn. What am I paying these guys for, anyway?

When the entire city of Glasgow's getting blown all over the place ... it's not news.

Anyone here ever try Ghost Recon? It's pretty sweet. It's sort of a FPS, but it's not quite as hectic as Quake or the like. There's a little more tactics involved, and you get to sneak around more and be all covert and shit. It's dope fresh.

My nerves got shot yesterday when a metal roadsign blew past me and narrowly missed decapitating me.

Fucking hell, yesterday was insane, I went to get my train and at one point there was such a huge gust of wind that EVERYONE on Union street just stopped, unable to move, people walking in the other direction either skipped along into walls or fell flat on their faces, it was funny, but weird. Then all the trains got suspended and eventually cancelled, so I was stuck in Glasgow.

I walked towards the underground and Buchanan Street was littered with roof tiles and blown over road signs, when I got into the underground a fight had broken out and police were called. Then underground itself was packed with panicking passengers and it was pretty much a "survive if you can" scenario.

I got to Kelvinbridge and went to my mates house, both Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities had been pretty much evacuated (can't think of a better word).

I sat for half an hour, had a joint, looked at my hair which, with the gel now hardened made me look like Tina Turner in an electrical storm.

By the time I left the entire city was gridlocked, we passed a couple of taxis on the way to the motorway and the fares were sitting at £80-£90.

It took me 4 hours to get home, I only live about 12 miles away from the city centre.
