right, so I've been home since about 11 today when my day finished and grown increasingly bored.

bored, hmmm, thats funny

funny because i took home the diary of boredom volumes 1-3 recently and they have been lying around.

the diary of boredom is just a record of all the doodles ive ever done when work goes slow. some of them are quite cute. they have a sort of "ive drawn this eye 7 times and no two versions match" type feel to them.

anyways i decided to take 5 mins to scan and very crappily fill em in in their respective colours as i imagine them as they are only originally done in either pencil or black biro

unfortunately 3 of the main characters are not done as ive actually lost diary of boredom 2 (you'd think it was with vol 1 & 3 but how wrong you would be) but i figured id do these anyways and if theyre too shitty then i wont bother with the rest

dont criticise the roughness, thats the point and im very disappointed that i had to point that out to you sonny jim

and horse is supposed to have a face like a kid with downs syndrome, honest, so dont slag that off

infact fuck you, im bored okay?!

anyways here they are:

bear

horse

skull

i have the sneaking suspicion that i suck when it comes to transparency so i dunno, could someone gimme a little pointer?

actually any pointers on more general topics would be handy so long as i dont get a "put a punchline in your comics" comment, im working on that one!

They have a Roobarb-ish charm. The bear and horse look a bit anorexic, though. And the skull looks like Boney from Trapdoor.

the other characters are more polished but these are very boobard and custard-ey aren't they? good point

id not noticed the connection with trapdoor before though, but you having mentioned it i go ah yees! hes right

I really like them. If you get the transparency and size thing worked out, I hope Brad puts them in. I'd use them.

I don't mean this as a joke... these things have character. It's hard to describe, but they have a definite appeal.

thanks guys (i think. they were compliments right? im tired)

well i think ill see about the whole transparecy and size deal and then do a whole load more of the guys from the dob volumes (by that time i expect IV will be done) and you guys could sorta pick and choose which ones i should bother sending off before i ignore you all and send em all off anyways

Really?

*Looks at Dicky*

I could see how... in the right light... it might look that way. I was hoping for the kid's plushy toy contract to start rolling in.

Back to the drawing board.

I really like those pics especially horse and bear.

As for Dicky I think I've made my stance on that subject very clear.

Look, if the 1996 Olympics could have a giant blue sperm as its mascot, I'm sure there's a place in stripcreator for Dicky.

Think of all the Dicky and Clippy comics!

They are fantastic! But what would be even better wouldbe a picture of a monkey drawn in that style.
