Wow. I'm on a roll. Or maybe it's a muffin. :- /

This pretty dang cool. I never thought I'd win one of these, now I've won two.

Okay.... Comic Contest XI, (in keeping with with the new Roman Numeral thang) will not be judged until Saturday night, because I'm going to be out of town until then. So.... the rules:

Character set:

One appearance of trash 1-1 or 1-2 from exploding dog, who must be watching tv 1-1 or 1-2 from props.

What's the theme?

8811

And that's pretty much it. Just go out there and flip on idiot box after about 1:00 A.M., stare at the crap on the screen until you start to drool or the sun comes up, and then get funny. :- )

See you all on Saturday,

bunner

Should I be concerned about the fact that every time I look at the Satan graphic, I feel like I recognize him from somewhere?

Now that you mention it, he kinda looks like this guy I knew in high school named Damien. No joke.

Heh, why not ask DexX what HIS inspiration was?

Because he doesn't like to talk about the years he spent carousing the gay bars down by the docks.

Has anybody seen my sense of funny laying around here somewhere? I could swear I had it earlier and now I can't seem to find it...

Short-memoried me. I didn't reread the rules, and used a recurring character from my own series of strips instead of Trashman. I'm DQed, right? :p

Um, unfortunately, for this one, yeah. That was the only biggie: Trashman and the TV. Sorry. Don't let it bug you, though. The strip was funny as hell and there are going to be a lot more of these contests, I'm reasonably sure.

The code for posting your strip in the forum is:
"your comic's number here"

That gives you this when putting 9407 in between the brackets:

And here it is:

All of the entries were pretty good, most were brilliant. I had a hard time deciding between the ones that truly captured the hopelessness of Late Night TV.
Dragon-Xero, ObiJo, and Gabe all hit the nail pretty hard.
Mine was half-assed at best, and I apologise. I've been sick.
Bottlerocket offered new hope for the wretched.
Big Evil Dan's was a hoot, and NastyPope added the phrase "Mutant Shoe" to my vocabulary. I may sue.
Evil_D's had a nice twist, and newcomer to the Comic Contest Ranma_X was hilarious. Good stuff. I'm sorry I had to disqualify Neo_Vid, cause it was funny as hell.

The one, however, that made me almost blow Pepsi out of my sore, head-cold-inflamed nose was:
9329

This was great. It not only reflected the hopelessly shitty programming that is late night TV, but it offered a very cynical and funny answer to dealing with it. Plus, I recognised every one of those bits of bad shows that poor Stick Man was surfing through.

Way to go, and hit it with comic Contest XII, wirthling!

Ok sparky, let's get it on. I'm leaving to go out of town tomorrow, and I don't want to miss an episode of the contest. Or else I'm gonna send the Red Robot to your house and he's not gonna be peddling lip gloss.

He's gonna be peddling a smackdown.

So get up some rules before 8am tomorrow, or stretch the deadline out to Tuesday evening. Please. Or else I'll have to go find an internet cafe in Rochester. Which I just might do.

Ah, for want of a laptop...

Anybody who goes to Rochester, NY of their own volition pretty much gets what they deserve. :- )
