I read an article in yahoo magazine the other day... more stuff about Instant Messangers and how kids and adults use them. It included the obligatory list of shortcuts that people say, with

• "iykwimaityd"

• "wysiwyg".

  It ticked me off seeing as all I've ever seen people use was "lol" "btw" "g2g" and "brb".

"lol" - Sure, yup.

"pmfji", "iykwimaityd", "inal" - I have been using the internet for a bit over a decade now, and these abbreviations mystify me. I suppose the suitable expression would be WTF???

"wysiwyg" - Uh... yeah... this is about as much an SMS/IMS shortcut as PCMCIA, DTP or RSPCA...

"inal" is how Professor Frink would pronounce Tobor's rape of choice.

There's ROFL and PML Rolling on the floor laughing and pissing myself laughing, sometimes people merge the two. And well I haven't heard of any of those ones except LOL.

iykwimaityd - I'm guessing this is "if you know what I mean and I think you do"

pmfji I think is Pardon me for jumping/joining in.

im guessing wysiwyg must be "what you see is what you get"
