I'll see all my homies on IMessangers, but for the most part, I'm not going to participate in the forums anymore. It seems that I touched some sesitive vibe of the universe and now people are pissed. I don't think I'll gain anything postive out of dealing with this, so I'll leave you with this state of mind

- who give a crap what someone in Australia thinks of you?

anyway, as the great Captian Kirk would say, C'est la vie.

Nate, the problem here is that you automatically assume that everyone who disagrees with you is only doing it because they hate you. Has it ever crossed your mind that you may actually be wrong occasionally? The Microsoft thing: You told me to shut up, never genuinely apologised, and then just ran away when a whole lot of people disagreed with your opinions. Now the anti-Catholic thing: You made some controversial comments, and then flatly refused to debate them, or even justify them.

You automatically assumed in both cases that people were telling you off because they just hate you. This is, I am sad to say, pure arrogance on your part. You never seemed to be willing to talk about anything - it was always a case of saying something that pissed someone off, followed by the least sincere apologies I have ever seen anywhere. Almost every time I have ever seen you back down on this forum, you have not said, "Okay, I see your point, you win," but "Sheesh, you are completely irrational, so I am just going to say I let you win, even though I know I'm right". Do you have any idea of just how infuriating that is?

I am an emotional person, sure, and I have a rotten temper, but I am not immune to logic. I study logic and argument at university, for fuck's sake, and I get good marks. Your refusal to debate or argue like a grown-up is what makes me angry. Yeah, I know you are not a grown-up, but damn... you could at least try, couldn't you?

I wasn't joking when I said I wanted to seriously debate your anti-Catholic ideas with you. I really did, and I still do, but you never once produced a single argument for me to debate. It got frustrating!

Like I said to dcomposed, nobody can make you go anywhere. I don't like you much, but I know a lot of other regulars would be sad to see you go. In fact, I am fairly sure that my dislike of you puts me in the minority. I will end this rant with one bit of advice: Nobody likes to be wrong, but one of the hardest skills an adult has to learn is the ability to admit fault, as much as they may hate to.

No, the only important thing is to develop a sense of moral responsibility and forge a standard of ethical behaviour that precludes the development of a sociological cesspool of "hooray for me, fuck you" motherfuckers that sit about, in what is essentially a sewer, while they look out for number one.

But that's just the opinion of Goddamn near every even quasi-functional society's scholars since Methuselah was a choirboy. I could be wrong.

I just came back to say I'm sorry for saying those things about catholics. I do make myself an ass when I talk about religion... I've been kind of sheltered and I don't have very many good debating skills. I felt that I didn't have the energy to go into another argument with nothing to show for it... anyway, I officialy/unofficialy apologize for the things I've said and ways I've acted. I need to take a break from this though... I feel as though I've been failing and just been getting more and more depressed... worried about what I've done and everything. So forgive me(if you care) for acting that way and everything... maybe I'll see you all around. Right now I have to jack out and try to obtain a life where my emotions wont revolve around this...

DexX, you sure throw a lot of sissy tantrums for someone who claims to just want a logical, rational debate about Microsoft being evil and someone being wrong about religion.

You get good marks in logic and argument at university and that somehow makes you less of an idiot? Sorry, no logic there. People in those classes are generally long-winded, self-righteous moralist crybabies like yourself, calling foul whenever someone doesn't agree with their "superior" opinions instead of just conceding that maybe you're just as full of shit as you think other people are.

In my experience, those who claim they are leaving a web forum never really leave (unless they are leaving due to technical issues or changes in life circumstances). Hello sixth grade debating tactic. Thanks for coming out.

For the record, even though it's painfully obvious as I only have two posts prior to this one, I didn't say I was mature. I didn't say I was an adult. I didn't say I never get upset over anything. I didn't say I was perfect. I didn't say I've never made mistakes. I didn't say I will never make a mistake again. I made an accurate (and angry) observation about DexX's behavior on these boards after being fed up with his condescending and arrogant behavior, which both you and him are sidestepping by lamely trying to punch holes in my integrity and credibility (which I very obviously have none of) with claims that I'm a troll or I'm a regular with a vendetta or that I'm claiming I'm perfect.

None of that, of course, has ANYTHING to do with the fact that DexX has very obviously been on a petty, shallow, and mean-spirited campaign to harass and bully usually young and inexperienced people on these boards for some time. I could be DexX's imperfect, habitually trolling arch-enemy from another galaxy and that doesn't make my claim any less valid. He's been condescending, smug, infuriated, insulting, sighing, raging about logic, demanding apologies, using the crowd to intimidate and stomping up and down quoting "rules" of arguing when things don't go his way.

It doesn't take a troll, someone with an axe to grind or a 100% perfect person to realize that you're just being a dick, DexX. Nobody, especially me apparently (I suspect none of the regulars want to open that can of worms by telling you to shut the hell up), wants to read your bitching and moaning and watch you lamely try to destroy teenagers with your sad-by-grown-up-standards arguing skills.

Usually I avoid lurking in the Fights Go Here forum because the temptation to jump in and slap you down is tremendous. But you've been stinking up the rest of the boards with your stupid bullshit lately too and since nobody else seems to want or be able to, I just wanted to cast my vote for STOP BEING SUCH AN ANNOYING BITCH.

Even though DexX likes Billy Joel and is clearly wrong about many things, namely those points on which he disagrees with me, he strikes me as one of the more patient, self-effacing, and amiable persons I've met online, and if I feel like insulting him, I'll just be myself.

Isn't Nate the first young person that DexX has ever had beef with. Also, most of the younger crowd (dcomposed, bazilla, deisel) have all been people that were annoying and needed something said to them.

If it weren't for DexX I would still be the annoying little troll that I was when I first came to these forums. DexX came right out and told me pretty much "Hey, your a dick. No one really likes you." That eye opener made me change my tune and turn into the beloved regular I am today. No, wait, that didn't come out right. What I meant to say is that I do not share dorkrod's perspective.

I do, however, think it is a bit unsporting to corner and badger someone like JrmnnrmnrNeonate who lacks debating skills at this point. Sure, it's good to challenge assertions and perhaps get the lad to start thinking about such things, but I would have let up on him after he made clear he wasn't prepared for such a discussion.

That's as far as I'll go in supporting any part of dorkrod's point, though. I'm not sure what all this supposed "stupid bullshit" is to which dorkrod refers, and though I have not always agreed with DexX's positions on various topics I have always found him to have a good grasp of logic and a willingness to consider alternate viewpoints.

And despite his protestations to the contrary, I still think it was Professor boorite in the library with the candlestick. Or maybe Colonel bunnerabb in the conservatory with the wrench.

I was pretty inexperienced regarding how to post images, comics, etc. when I first started posting.
DexX has been nothing but helpful and sweet to me.
I never thought for a minute that he was being condescending, mean-spirited, smug or insulting, even though some of the questions I've asked out of ignorance might have merited that type of response from someone with those unsavory personality traits you accused him of having.
DexX is a gentleman, a patient (as boorite mentioned)
kind and caring person of a caliber you will probably never understand.
As wirthling mentioned, I also think it is a bit much to corner and badger someone like JrmnnrmnrNeonate who is just an inexperienced kid trying to flash around some experience.
As far as your accusation goes of regulars not wanting to open up a can of worms by disagreeing with DexX, I told him while talking with him on Yahoo that he went
overboard in dealing with Nate. And guess what? No can of worms was opened, plus he admitted he was tired and frustrated at the time.
DexX certainly isn't the monster you're trying to make him out to be! I think if you took the time to get to know him better instead of jumping in and making stupid, unfounded accusations about him, you'd see some very nice qualities and possibly make a friend.
BTW, virtually everyone here bitches and moans about something. It's usually part & parcel of posting in a forum. Hardly with the capability, though, to actually "destroy" anyone.

Nope, sure as fuck ain't me. For one thing, although I'm pretty sure Brad has no interest in getting into this and airing IP addresses and so on, I wouldn't be surprised if he took a peek just to satisfy his own curiosity, maybe preparatory to censuring a troll who has gotten way out of line. I would not want to discredit myself with the creator and operator of the site where I spend my online life.

Secondly, when I see long posts containing detailed personal attacks in mixed caps with bullshit tough-guy posturing about slapping someone down, I see a person who is taking himself way too seriously, which is a vice I don't care to indulge quite to the extent of our friend dorkrod.

Thirdly, I like DexX and his contributions, and even if he did wage a battle of wits with an unarmed person, I chalk it up to enthusiasm for certain causes. Plus he was provoked. So I don't think it warrants calling him all sorts of names, and if I did I'd just say so, because he's a big Australian pussy anyway and I'm not afraid of him.

By the way, for what it's worth, I am not necessarily convinced that dorkrod is a regular hiding behind an alias. The lack of comics would tend to indicate that it was an alias created just to troll DexX without alienating anyone against the usual identity but that is hardly conclusive proof. I find the whole "who is this really?" game to be tiresome, so I usually assume until proven otherwise that each new username that comes along is a new person.
