'cause there are no backgrounds showing the door from the inside.

Maybe I should pick a different background for my subsequent knock-knock jokes.

But that was the part that made me laugh!

Why not just leave the first text bubble empty, and move everything to the right?

like:

{empty} - {knock knock} - {who's there?} - {someone} - {who?} - {punchline}

then you don't feel lost when it comes to the last panel, and the whole comic makes sense.

That's an option, but I think it loses something when you leave off the denouement. I'm sure the reader can come to their own conclusion, but if there's going to be any character building in the series, the reader needs to know a bit about what goes on in the mind of the protagonist.

Or there's always:

doorshut: {Knock knock} {who's there?}
doorshut: {Yula} {Yula who?}
dooropen: {You locked me in your house again.} {Sorry.}

I think you should have gone with Kajun's idea. None of your final speech bubbles are funny, and in fact they annoy me by their very existence.

Hmmm... I dunno... I think the final line thing is kinda cute. *shrug*

The "I hope Cathy uses mouthwash" line was the only ending line that I thought was worth the time to think up. The rest just ruin what would otherwise be a "gurgle-worthy" funny comic.

(Gurgle-worthy as in, I don't laugh so much as gurgle in pain at the horrible punchline.)
