I have discovered that I like using shifting perspective in comics, and so now that I am in charge of this contest I have decided to make you do it, too.

In this contest you will have to use a flash-back, flash-forward, or flash-sideways (cut to another location) in your comic. But since that's a pretty broad rule, I'll constrain it by saying you also have to use one (and only one) type of low humor in your comic.

The flashes can be indicated by a change in scene or characters, a narration bar, or anything else you feel like using, so long as it's some sort of shift in time or place. It can be in any panel of the comic (or multiple panels if you can figure out how to make a multiple-panel flash in a 3 panel comic).

Low forms of humor include

  • Puns
  • Shock humor (i.e. dead-baby skull fucking monkey raping shock humor)
  • Insults

If you can think of any other "low" humor that's not on the list, feel free to make your entry and post what type of low humor you're using. If I agree it's low (and that you used it), I'll consider the entry valid. Bonus points if the shock humor isn't the punchline of the comic. Remember you can only use one type of low humor per comic.

Standard Fine Print

  • Stay away from jokes about other SC strippers and forum in-jokes such as TOBOR, wirthling sucking, Cowboy Physics, etc. They're old, they're tired, and many of them weren't funny to begin with. So even though they're technically allowed by the rules, I will not find them funny. So you will lose.
  • I hate to say it, but go ahead and post as many entries as you want.
  • Series are welcome, but the comics will probably be judged individually.

Judging... I don't know. Thursday or Friday-ish. Go to it!

Of course when I wrote that, I meant the low humor, not shock humor in particular.

Also part of the challenge is that "low" humor isn't necessarily funny, so you have to make the comic funny while at the same time using this low humor. Thus the bonus points for those who don't use the low humor as the punchline (or main gag, or theme or whatever) of the comic.

Wait... can the final panel be funny?

Yes, dispite kaufman's counter-example, the final panel should be funny. But I'm saying that the overall humor in the cartoon does not need to stem from the low humor -- just that low humor needs to be used somewhere.

Oo... not an auspicious start for CC 134.

Here’s my first (and indeed, second) attempt at entering one of these contests. Enjoy! Oh, and I apologise about spelling humour like that, but I do come from rainy, miserable England, and we spell things differently over here. Pip Pip old bean and all that, you know…

Anywho, the comics...

Well, you could try what I tried: get past that by sending hookers to whoever is running the contest.

Fortunately, what he doesn't know is that I've tried this on everyone who has run a contest, and it only will help you win when Scyess is running the contest. He'll try it and lose, hahaha what a loser.

I might not have to resort to that. In the third frame Jesus is gone, one would assume it would take a while for a guy nailed to a cross, wich is stuck in the ground to get out of the panel. either that or the little girl moved. either way is rules complient.

Okay, so now it's down to "judge the contest on who has the best entry rather than who can run the best contest next" time. This one had lots of new entrants, which I always like to see. But there can be only one winner, and yadda yadda yadda let's get the fuck on with it already.

First of all, the

Honorable Mentions

  • "Goldberg Variation" by kaufman
  • "Necromancer's bane Part 40" by mutsje2000
  • "And now for something completely different part 6" by mutsje2000

Followed shortly by the

Comics I Liked Enough to Consider for Winning

  • "Raping the seeds you sow [sic]" by Shadow_Artist
  • "Never tape ANYTHING" by boorite
  • "The Husband and Wife game" by dcomposed
  • "Low Humour Entry 3: Standard B Movie Trash" by Shadow_Artist (I shouldn't've liked it, but I did.)
  • "Eating Habits" by JrnymnNate
  • "..." by ObiJo

And at last the

It Was Really Hard to Decide among These

  • "Psychology" by Mr_Jass
  • "Necromancer's bane Part 39 - Topical Contest Entry" by mutsje2000
  • "Don't Touch the Girl Scout Cookies..." by Big Evil Dan

But, alas, as I alluded to before, there can only be one

WINNER

80068

...although honestly, I liked Big Evil Dan's comic best, to be perfectly fair I had to disquailfy it for using more than one type of low humor: shock humor (baby eating) and a pun ("Girl Scout" title).

I realize I'm probably going to take shit from the regs for choosing someone who's only been around for a week as the next contest host for CC 135, but all I can say to mutsje2000 is please read this to avoid embarassing yourself (and me for choosing your newbie ass).

Now that you've won it is YOUR job to run the next contest. You've got to make rules that other will follow, set a date for judging, and then pick the winner (and lord of the next contest). Don't make rules that would make funny comics impossible; then you're just an ass and I reserve the right to revile you until your ears bleed. You may also want to read some of the old contests for ideas (and so you don't accidentally repeat one).

That's the advice I have for you. In short: don't fuck up. Next contest, please!

Is the winner really rules-compliant? I thought the low humor wasn't supposed to be the punchline.

Anyway, I'm not surprised at which one of mine got mentioned. I read your comics and deliberately made one that I thought would appeal to you. Looks like I still lacked that crucial spark of insight into your tastes and interests. If only there were a way to inspect your garbage or monitor your telephone conversations. Well, maybe next time.

Oh, and Sycess. What do you mean when you say...

That is in fact the case. Bonus points to those who don't use the low humor as the punchline, but that was just an expression of my personal taste.

Oh, incidentally, the victor (mutsje2000, or whatever) has until Monday to post a new contest before I default it to the next runner up, Mr_Jass. This is only because newbies tend to vanish without a trace faster than a black person pulled over by the LA cops in a deserted alley, and I want to make sure there IS a next contest.
