Have I ever mentioned that a marathon viewing of all three Mad Max films is a great way to spend an evening? You will be amazed at just how nicely they flow as a trilogy, with Max starting as a cop, becoming an angel of vengeance, reappearing as a cynical mercenary with a deeply hidden caring soul, then finally evolving into a weird kind of messiah. The evolution of the world around him is great to watch, too: a world in turmoil gives way to a post-apocalyptic wasteland with humanity clinging on by its fingernails, which then grows into new civilisation, with social order trying very hard to reassert itself.

It's a great epic watch, and this comment is entirely off topic, but you knew that.

On a related note, I would love to see a fourth MM film, with Max being trailed by a mysterious robed man, horribly burn-scarred and missing a foot.

Well, if there were, say, six spaces left, I probably wouldn't take one. But since there's only one, I'm afraid I'll be missing out if I don't. Funny how that works. I'm in.

Actually, you better count me out. It sounds really cool, but I promised myself I'd quit at 300 and I'm just about at my limit. I'd do more, but people are getting annoyed with me replying to them by writing something out on a white board and holding it above my head.

simple regulations to be set though

3 rules per match (match as apposed to round) this will mean across round one there will be four different sets of rules

first entry must be accepted (sorry but were not gonna all be voting for different ones

if ObiJo is in then round one will shape up as follows

Match 1 - Ranma X vs evil-d

Match 2 - descolada99b vs Big Evil Dan

Match 3 - Spankling vs ObiJo (although im debating if obi does pull out whether to give this to spankling as a bye)

Match 4 - DexX vs ladyjdotnet

winner of match 1 will most likely face winner of match 4 and winners of matches 2 and 3 will meet in the two semifinals and then the winners of those battle to the death in the finals

im pondering about putting a time limit on each round at the moment but i dont know whats a good number seems various people can get on here at various times in their lives

If there's going to be a time limit, it should encompass at least 1 full evening/night, so people who can only get on to the stripcreator at night will have an opportunity to compose their entries.

Will contestants be allowed to submit multiple entries, or just one each?

one entry per round and youre disqualified from the round if you dont make it to the board within 36 hours of the round starting ive decided

What ever happened to the COMIC CUP that idea was genius I think someone should start up another COMIC CUP post haste. So whos gonna organize the new COMIC CUP because this idea is to good to go to waste!!!!!

Well I want in when it gets started up again cause I brought it up. If noone else wants to get it started I could be in charge or something we just need people to get in on this thing.

Notice the dates on these posts. The first comic cup has been ongoing since the fourteenth of June. Just not in this thread. Rather, in this one. Currently we are awaiting the posting of the rules for the final round, which will feature an exciting (hopefully) showdown between ladyjdotnet and myself. Presumably, the victor will go on to moderate the second comic cup, because, well, it's not like there's anything else we could possibly get for winning. If you'd like to participate in the next round, I recommend you monitor that thread.
