Round one, Match one - Spankling vs evil_d

Rules:

1-Frame stretching must be used to good effct
2-Backgrounds must not be of the photograph variety
3-One exploding dog must feature in each frame

As will be par for the course as on all gameshows I'll have to accept your first answer

I was gonna boycott the event after you called me a gentleman, but I'll turn the other cheek (no spanking jokes please). I hope missing a letter here and there doesn't count against me... It is in keeping with the directions.

Sorry about rule 3. I'm enough of a logician that I interpret "one" to mean "any number other than zero". This may explain why I nearly failed calculus. (Although the real reason why I didn't fail completely, despite having a 30/100 overall, is because the professor wanted never to see me again.) I really only chose the robot because I wanted someone who looked small enough to fit in the sandcastle's door; I guess the little girl or the donkey could have done it in a pinch. But then we wouldn't have the image of a little robot being in love with someone's stereo, and I like that one.

I have to give props to Mr. Ling for effective use of the half-bug.

No props contain green. There were a couple of other places where you might have made an argument for something containing green, but I didn't like your argument. So this is my list.

You rule. But as long as I've got the ex. dog stick figures and the first three backgrounds I could probably make about 75% of my comics to date.

So I guess not using green isn't too restrictive.

Gabe vs. Dan was a hell of a match to come up in the first round. They're two of my favorite authors here, and I could easily have seen them meeting in the finals. In fact, I'm glad I won't have to face either until then (assuming I make it there myself).

I thought long and hard over this decision (as far as you know). Both strips were funny and deserve my vote. But only one can have it. And since I have to choose, I choose Gabe. Mainly because I find the line "I think I'll pass this year, on account of the Scottish games are pretty gay" inordinately funny.
