I don't know about you, but it's about this time of year that serious cabin fever starts to set in at Casa Clark. The call of the open road is strong. "Zoom zoom", it seems to say.

The only problem is that highway driving is (at it's best) pretty boring and uneventful. How about if you guys spice it up with the strangest thing you've ever seen (or imagined) during a road trip. It could be a bizarre billboard, a confusing off-ramp sign, a gay construction crew, whatever -- it just has to be something I might plausibly see from from the tinted windows of my pimped out cruiser. OK; its actually a '95 Ford Taurus. Let's not dwell on that.

Judging will be Thursday afternoon I guess. Good luck, and might I add, "Farfugnugen".

Kaddar's guide to road trips:

Avoid certain campgrounds.

You know how squirrels run past you, and then turn around and get in the middle of the road?

Same thing applies here.

Use sightseeing to help you decide on safe activities to participate in

Because I have lost whatever small amount of creativity I ever had, here's one from a previous contest:

The first time it disgusted me. The second time it made me feel happy in my pants.

This isn't mine, but I figured I'd post it here anyway. It's only funny if you're a LotR nerd, like myself.

HAHA! I like it not_scyess. I am a LotR nut as well. I read the trilogy YEARS ago before there was even a thought of the movie. I have the trilogy that is like 30 years old with the map of middle earth. It is sweet.

I got that from http://www.barrowdowns.com/ There is some site linked from there that includes a ton of maps of Middle-Earth, but I don't remember where it is. That site is a pretty nifty Tolkien-world site, if anyone's interested.

Truth be told, PunkEct., I never liked judging contests or coming up with these lame-o rules sets anyway. I'd rather let others tackle the texty tedium of this unpleasantly authoritarian duty while I have fun making comics and hacking out shit in Photoshop and generally screwing around (or blowing off Stripcreator entirely -- whatever floats my boat at any given moment in time).

But with DexX (and some other talents vastly superior to yours and mine) not taking the brunt of the burden anymore, I feel an obligation to be "it" once and a while. It ain't my forte'. I once ran a contest with just one entry.

Who won?

Even though I know nothing of graphics or picture modification and stole my entry, I'd be happy to run the next one of these things if you want it that way. Just so you know.

I can honestly say that every image I could see made me laugh (including Wirthling's, which I hadn't seen before). Arty, I couldn't see either of yours and Buffy, I couldn't see that last one.

Buffy and Kaddar submitted (AFAIK) new and original stuff, and it rawked, so I was just going to flip a coin between 'em. But since both are recent winners and since Not_Scyess publicly grovelled for it (and agreed to wear that nun outfit I like in a private E-mail exchange) I'm inflicting the next contest on him.

The real prize, of course, is knowing that ect. ect.

Just kidding about the grovelling and nun outfit, NS. Take it away, my man.

Oh, it wasn't a comment on your rules, it was just an observation. I miss DexX :(. By the way, you can call me punky.
