Uhm...hi.

I just got involved in LPCSC when an acquaintance from Usenet got a LP account (http://www.stripcreator.com/comiclist.php?sort=date&o=2&author=Jedah) and I figured I'd get one too. I'm joining the forums for two major reasons. One, I want to see if I'm actually any good, or if I've been showing my archive to a bunch of sycophants. The other is, the comic contest looks fun. :p

So, whose ass do I have to kiss to get in here, anyway?

References to MacBeth, XiaoXiao, All your base, A winner is you, Ate my balls, donkey sodomy, plus you mock Jack Chick, and your third comic was a series of jabs at the Strip Creator itself. Not bad for a nine-strip portfolio. I don't get this "volitation" business, though. Also, you'll have to lose some of the humor. I'm afraid we simply don't allow funny comics here.

As for whose ass you have to kiss, I suspect the answer to that is going to be "wirthling's".

I wondered about cutting back on something in the rules before submitting. I know Waits isn't a household name, but his stuff is very visual. I provided a link to a good site to look up his lyrics in the thread if that helps.

On the bright side the two valid entries I have to date (including Haights') are good laughs.

And it was! Plus wirthling's came in after I wrote that. The best part is seeing the different bend everyone gives these. I have one or three ideas in mind when I make the rules, then you folks provide others completely unlike any I had in mind.

Plus walking around with Despot and Better off Without a Wife playing in my head all weekend has been nice (not that my wife is amused by the words I hum).

After all, I have a repulsive personality, and I do about one comic a week, but I'm a "respected" member of the Lowpass "community," which rarely has happened to me "before." And being out of ideas isn't a bad thing either... isn't it the reason most people do comics here?
