| So calculating a percentage of an amount you divide by 100 and then multiply by the percentage you are after. So 20% of 200 is, 200/100 =2 then x 20 and the answer is 40. | |

| Ah ok so the other is percentage of something else like 28 out of 40 on an exam. You divide what you got (28) by the total available (40) to get a decimal and then x by 100. So 28/40= 0.7 x100=70% | |
