The Little girl asked...
Do I use commas to break off essential elements of a sentence?
Heck no! That just aint cool.
The Bacon man said...
Well, can I use a comma to set off a non-essential element?
OF COURSE!!! Here is an example... When you say; "Students who cheat only harm themselves," you don't need a comma.
And the girl was enlightened...
This bacon guy freaks me out...
An example of when you can set off an non-essential element is; "Fred, who often cheats, is just harming himself." The "who often cheats" is not essential so you can put it in quotations.
