	i'm nervous. independence day is 30 days from today.


	why is that? you're legal, you've been here for over a decade.


	i don't know. the other day i overheard people of different races laughing and joking about cartoons and tv shows they watched as kids.


	and you had no idea what they were talking about, and now you feel insecure about it.


	it's impossible to fake that kind of american cultural literacy.


	i bet you suck at trivial pursuit too. perhaps you could learn to bake a really good apple pie.
