The Radical Republicans were members of the Republican Party who were strong believers in the abolition of slavery and total equality of the races. Then comes the 13th Amendent!
Yes! The 13th Amendment abolished slavery! It was the first of the three Reconstruction Amendments adopted following the American Civil War. I think I got that question right...
Good! Now what was the 14 the Amendment?
The 14th Amendment, ratified on July 9th, 1868, granted citizenship to "all persons born or naturalized in the United Sates," which included former slaves recently freed."
