| Today, I'm gonna teach you about the Layers of the Earth. Let's get started shall we? | |
 | | |
Since it is the top layer, it has the least heat and pressure.
 | | |
| This is the Crust. It's the top layer and the thinnest layer! Oceanic Crust is made of dense rock like basalt. Continental Crust is made of less dense rock like granite. | |
 | | |
 | | |
| Based on my background knowlage, I'm guessing this layer consists of the elements oxygen, silicon, aluminum, calcium, iron, sodium, potassium, and magnesium? | |

 | | |
| Correct!! The crust is a solid layer and this layer is 5-40 km thick and it starts off cool but the temperature increases as you go down (1ºC per 40 m depth). Pressure also increases as you go deeper | |

 | | |
| I never knew that! I'm learning so much!! | |
