Did you know that animal-like protists are single-celled consumers and are also called protozoa.
I know and they are divided into four different phyla: amoebalike protists, flagellates, ciliates, and spore-forming protists.
Yeah, amoeba is a soft, jelly-like protozoan that is found in fresh and salt water, in soil, or as parasites in animals.
Amoebas are a highly structured cell. They have contractile vacuoles to get rid of excess water.
Amoeba's also feed by engulfing food and once they sense another single-celled organism they move toward it.
It surrounds a bacterium or small protists with its pseudopodia, forming a food vacuole. After it digests the food its ready to get rid of the waste.
