The criminal court consists of a Magistrates court and the Crown court. These are for tries of lower level of offence and more serious offence.
The Civil courts consists of the County Court and the high court. These deal with smaller claims and less complex cases and also hears claims for large amounts of money and complex cases.
Criminal law is the state and its citizens and civil law involves individuals.
