| I heard that pollution is a reason for declines in some spiecies. Could that be another cause for the Adriatic sturgeons decline? | |
 | | |
 | | |
| That is another cause. Wels catfish (an alien species) that eats the same food as the sturgeon, has increased in population, and the competition is negatively affecting Adriatic sturgeons as well. | |

| So, are there any conservation efforts? | |
 | | |
 | | |
| Yes. Some actions are being taken are: Adriatic sturgeon are now illigal to catch, a company is opening a fish passage through a dam that is blocking a sturgeon breeding area. And,-- | |
