The bourgeois family unit is stifling our children. We need to return to the free ways of more primative cultures.
I was raised in primative culture
You must have had so much freedom to explore your individualism and choose your own path.
My people are Vikings. I had the choice of being a Viking or being thrown to the sharks.
Right on man. Kids dealing with heavy, real world stuff- that's way better than getting a bunch of "values" laid on you.
Maybe I should have chosen the sharks.

To design a proper education, it is crucial to understand children's natural impulses.
Absolutely! Children's impulses must be understood.
Communication, inquiry, creation, and expression- These lie in the hearts of children.
Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of murder and incest.
So I was thinking of teaching them to grow wheat and bake bread.
I'd like to focus more on chastity belts and metal detectors.

Applying different cultural standards
Honey, you're much too young to be wearing a bikini like that. If we were living in Iran you could be thrown in jail!
But Mom, all my friends have suits like this, and this is what they wear on TV, and WE DON'T LIVE IN IRAN!!!
Still, I'm your mother and I want you to change into something more age-appropriate.
FINE! I'LL TRY TO FIND SOMETHING "AGE-APPROPRIATE"
Actually dear, in Iran you would need to have your face covered too, but I guess this will do for today.
Instead of tanning maybe I'll just go play some shuffle board.
