It is a Thursday night and Daniel is still not finished with his homework. His Dad is starting to get aggravated because his son is not in bed yet therefore, he begins to rush him.
Daniel, son what are you doing? It's just about time for you to go to bed. You have school tomorrow.
I know Dad I'm really trying to get this homework done for Mrs. Adams, but I just don't understand it. I always thought that there was just one kind of verb. Not two.
Now Daniels father understands what has been taking Daniel so long and decides to help him.
Well, there are actually linking verbs and action verbs. Action verbs tells what the person or thing is doing. Where as linking verbs connect the subject with extra info about that subject.
Yeah, Yeah. I know that's what Mrs. Adams told us. I still just dont understand how to use that in a sentence.
Now Daniel finally understands how to do his homework and within a few minutes hes ready to go to sleep.
For instance, if you said "The car is fast." The linking verb would be"is" because it's stating extra info about the car. The action veb would be "fast" because it is the action taking place. Get it?
Oah! Yes of course it makes sense! Thanks Dad this is real easy!
