Mr. Antolini asked about Holden’s expulsion from Pencey Prep. Holden said that he disliked the rules of there. Holden believes that Mr. Antolini is a pervert so he goes out of there.

He spends the night sleeping on a bench in the waiting room. He goes to Phoebe’s school and writes her a note telling her to meet him at the Museum. Being there he remembers things of his childhood.

Phoebe arrives at the museum and he tells her that she can’t go with him. She gets angry and refuses to look at him. Holden tells her he won’t go away. They finally go to the zoo.
