Hey what in the world is an Ionic Bond?
An Ionic bond is formed between a metal and a non-metal when you combined two atoms.
Oh how do you draw the bond when you are combinding the atoms using the Lewis Law Structure?
Well, when you place the valence electrons around the symbol you may not have enough to make it balanced.
When you do connect the dots for the valence electrons, that is showing you are sharing them which is for another type of bond.
If it isn't balanced then what do you do?
You draw an arrow showing you are transferring the electrons from one atom to another. Be sure not to connect the dots becuase then it is showing you are sharing the valence electrons.
