While studying under Walther Nernst Millikan discovers that the charge of the electron is 1.602E-19 coulombs. This experiment is known as the Oil-Drop Experiment.

With J.J. Thomson's mass ration Millikan realizes that the mass of one electron is 9.11E-28 grams. In 1923 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for physics, 30 years later Millikan passes away.
