How do i find how far apart two skiers are, when their angles of depression from a person in a ski lift 20 ft up are 43° and 22°?
Well first you have to find the tan22°, which is 20/Z.
Ok. Well if i did my math right, Z equals 49.5.
Good, now you have to find the tan43° which is 20/X.
Ok. I got X equals 21.4, is that right?
Yes, that is correct. Now subtract X from Z to get Y. Y is the distance between the skiers.
