As well as, people started building on the grassland creating cities such as Houston.

In 1960, the World Wildlife Fund bought 3,500 ac. of coastal prairie area, and in 1972, gave it to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. This is where they live now, mating to create more chickens.
