Without much ado, Jack followed the red bird. He climbed fences and scaled walls and walked until his feet were sore. He sat to rest. The bird stood near the nearest branch.

Jack tried not to be resentful but found himself throwing a clod of dirt at the red winged thing. The bird, of course, leaped into the air with nonchalance.
