I agreed to take part in research but I'm worried about how safe my information is.
If you have questions about the research project you can look at the study information sheet or call the study team.
It says on here my information is stored in 'pseudo-anonymous' format, securely and that it is sent to the university statisticians in a way that cannot identify me as an individual.
Pseudo-anonymous means that information collected from you as part of the research, like your blood analysis, is kept seperate from your name, linked with an ID number in case we need to identify you.
Can the research team pass my information on to anyone else without my permission?
Generally no, unless they have a legal authority to access the information, for example to investigate a crime.
