A young teacher in an elementary school in the Midwest was called into the principal's office for a ten minute conference. The principal evaluated her teaching as above average.

| "I called you in to discuss classroom disclipline. I noticed your classroom is too noisy and the students chairs are often left in disarray", said Principal Johnson. | |

| "This is quite offensive! My classroom is not too noisy and the chairs are always in a nice neat circle. Principal Johnson only visited for 5 minutes and the kids were quiet." | |

The next day, in the teacher's lounge, all became clear when she discussed the conference with another teacher. The teacher nodded,smiled, and explained:

| "Mr. Richards; the Custodian? Yup. he slowly sweeps the halls and listens for noisy classrooms. First sign of a slight uproar and he tells the principal. He also hates the chairs in circle." | |
