what were the problems faced by singapore in providing enough water and how much water did we have in 1965?
Singapore (partly) an island and has no big rivers or anything. So Water must be imported from other countries or must come from the sea by desalting the sea water. we had 1364 litres of water then.
what were our consumption then? and how has this changed over time?
Through our various water conservation initiatives, Singapore has managed to reduce domestic water consumption from 172 litres per capita per day in 1995 to 157 litres in 2007.
lastly, what are our strategies in obtaining water for ourself, and what are our future plans to ensure we have enough water in the future?
Singapore has adopted a “Four Taps Strategy,” where it sources water from its own reservoirs, from Johore in Malaysia, recycling (NEWater), and desalination. this helps ensure we have enough water
