Newsflash: "Fight Club" was a movie. The targets of these attacks were international symbols of the US. Maybe if just capitalist symbols or just government symbols were attacked that it might be an inside job. I would be surprised if it turns out to be someone other than islamic terrorists.

Question: if you take away capitalist symbols (buldings owned by rich companies) and government symbols (bulldings owned by the government) what else is left? So far we have seen the World Trade Centre, probably _the_ symbol of American wealth, and the Pentagon, definitely THE symbol of the US military.

I strongly agree bro. I am almost certain deep down that this was another McVeigh like attack. Perhaps without even his attachments. American miltia as DexX has speculated. The militias have been quiet for a LONG time, and are deep-rooted.

Also, the buildings were SURELY symbols of capitalism and democacy. There are thousands of outspoken anti-democratic and anti-capitialistic groups in america. There's a radio show about socialism on my local station. Same one we broadcast our metal show from. We've been considering getting that guy in trouble during his show...

If only the Pentagon had been attacked, this would be a possibility: but why would an anti-federalist extremist target the WTC, the international symbol of free market capitalism? Islamic fundamentalists, Palestinian or otherwise, would be my first choice of culprit.

Because quite simply, there are plenty of people here in the USA who are probably creaming their pants that something like this happened. Some militias in this country want to see a violent downfall of not only the federal government, but capitalism as well. Like I said, looking at how it was done, I lean logically towards an outside source for the attack, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if some US militia had something to do with it.

This is way out of the Timothy McVeigh league. Unless I'm missing something, the highjackers themselves had to fly the planes into the targets. Ever try to hit a skyscraper with a jumbo jet? I also doubt seriously that the highjackers could have forced an airline pilot to do such a thing. They'd take a bullet or dump the plane before deliberately crashing into the WTC or the Pentagon. So I think this thing was organized with the cooperation of some state.

Agreed that military spending has nothing to do with it. Too ludicrous.

As I understand it, a jumbo jet requires three trained pilots to fly. The hijackers would have to have been equipped with quite a degree of knowledge of aviation. It's highly unlikely that a passel of terrorists of McVeigh's calibre would have access to such resources, which does point the finger at nations, or very advanced terrorist groups.
