We can get around the battery-weight/range dilemma by using slot-car technology. Electrified strips on freeways for distance, and batteries for local travel. Sort of a combination of EV and PRT.

And we could make the pavement a huge solar collector.

. . .

And let's not overlook the many benefits of blimp travel.

Blimps are cool. When is someone going to make them fashionable again?

Cruise liners of the sky... you won't get there quickly, but you will enjoy the ride...

Three words that ensure blimps will never take off again. PR killed blimps.

Before you freak out and point out how ignorant I am of Helium instead of Hydrogen, I know. Helium is more expensive than hydrogen, and all the *public* remembers is that the Zepplin came to the ground in a flaming heap.

They should have these at a mall... rent them out for a few bucks an hour. A great way to get people hooked on it.

And they can put the mallcops on them!

...Trot and Cap'n Bill were free from anxiety and care. Button-Bright never worried about anything. The Scarecrow, not being able to sleep, looked out of the window and tried to count the stars.

Introducing something even revolutionaryer: the WirthWay Individual Mobility System!

The WirthWay Individual Mobility System is good for the environment and good for you. It is completely emission-free (provided you wear socks and change them occasionally) and does not require recharging. The system is very intuitive. Most people are up and moving in seconds after removing the system from the box. Unlike with other human transportation systems, you can climb, jump, and kick using the WirthWay Individual Mobility System. Some people are capable of transporting themselves at up to 30 miles per hour using this system! Buy one today, and we'll throw in a second one for free!

I prefer the J-Way series.

I'm actually wearing them right now. They're a little bit more broken in now than they were when that pic was taken.

Zeppelin just went back into the blimp-making business.

And I've seen old pictures that show that Oakland and a lot of other cities used to have a rail system, but they were taken out because everyone wanted more cars on the streets.

Everyone being Standard Oil and the auto industry. Special interests from these groups made congress cram more highways down our throats. There was no popular cry for more roads and less railway. People just used them once they were built.

Ahem... *puts on Diploma of Business cap*

Ever heard of the Product Life Cycle?

When a product enters into the market place, the price is generally high, particulary when there are no competitors, to recoup R&D costs.

As the product gains in popularity the costs are generally reduced, also because competitors are entering the market and stealing market share. Making the product becomes much cheaper as well (economies of scale).
