Yeah, I can imagine Steve Austin showing off by pouring a couple of beers on himself and the Scottish crowd just staring at him like "what?", then all throwing bottles of Buckfast into the ring.

I love the way the "heels" try to rile up the crowd by insulting local football teams and calling the locals morons, it'll certainly be interesting to see what they do when the whole arena just start beating each other up and the wrestlers just sort of hang around in the ring, confused.

OK, I know the "rule" with mixing beer and liquor is
"Liquor before beer, never fear; beer before liquor, never sicker," but what is the rule for mixing beer and wine? I was hoping one of the Scots or Aussies would help answer this important question.

So far tonight, I have only mixed a Killian's with a half-dozen more Killianseses, but I am wondering if it would be a bad idea to crack open the Riunite. (I only like wine that comes with a screw cap.)

I have no idea. As far as I am concerned, you drink them in strength order - beer first, then wine, then spirits, then radiator antifreeze. Okay, maybe skip the last one...

I do, however, know the one about beer and marijuana (although, unfortunately, I learned it _after_ finding out the hard way): "Grass then beer, you're in the clear. Beer then grass, you're on your arse." In my case, however, it was Opel Nera black sambuca, which is one of the least attractive beverages in the world when it comes back up. Vomiting what appears to be tar is an unpleasant experience.

You can't - in Australia, and most other countries, methylated spirits is mixed with some chemical or other which induces sudden and uncontrollable vomiting. Your stomach has to be the strongest of the strong to drink it. I doubt even one person in a thousand could manage it without a lot of practice.

Once, in high school chemistry, a bloke I knew did the 15-year-old equivalent of eating worms - we made sherbert, and he snorted it like cocaine. What a wanker. The cool thing was that the whites of his eyes turned almost blood-red... a sort of lurid pink... the fact that he was an utter cockspank made it all the more enjoyable.

I used to go to school with a guy who smoked paper.

I'm not sure I understand any of this, I drink beer, then spirits, then more beer, without worrying about anything. I smoke a lot of weed, before, during, and after a large bevvie session. Perhaps I've just got an iron stomache, I haven't been sick since I was 16 and even then it was because I had swallowed too much blood.

I don't know, I've only been told this story, I can't remember experiencing it. I woke up the next day with stitches in my face and those pads that they put on you when they plug you into a heart monitor. I was at home, but they'd left the little connectors stuck to me.

I got a blood sample taken, I still have the report that just says "INTOXICATED".
