In fact, I'd say Daft Punk are the only artists in that list that could be described as "techno", and only for their first album, now they're more like kitschy disco music.

I'd say they were pretty much always kitchy disco music. Their name annoys me.

Yeah, let's stay on topic here!

I thought Episode 1 was going to be shit. This is because I went to see Armageddon under duress once. It was crap but not as crap as I thought it was going to be - since then I've always tried to think of every film I'm going to see as gash - that way you're never diappointed. There's a lesson there I think.

The aboslute worst part about it was the shitty pseudo-scientific explanation for the Force - the Force is intangible mysticism: Star Wars is Seven Samurai in space, aye?

However, the lightsabre fights rocked! Easily the best scenes. What everyone wanted to see more of I reckon. Excpet Jar-Jar dying near the start...

As for techno - hell you've got the Soma label in Glasgow! Not all techno but all good. Do not start on Daft Punk, their solo work on Roule is well better. The name Daft Punk came from a mag's description of a review of their early work.

I liked it. Fun, cheesy, exciting and balls-in-the-mouth enjoyable.

Ep I was okay. Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be (disappointment is such a pain-inducer) and I still get a kick out of it, but I know it's nowt special.

Two Towers, on the other hand, made me want to pound the cinema arm-rests in frustration. Didn't do anything for me and it meandered too much (Ooh, look! Another Swirly-landscape shot! And Slow motion! Of a Horse! Hooray!)

I don't think it's just disappointment that makes people condemn Episode 1. It's shit in its own right. I'm not much of a Star Wars fan, so I wasn't expecting all that much, but I thought it was dire even compared to the original trilogy.

Yeah, it's not just a bad Star Wars film. It's a bad film full stop.

I really don't think it's a "terrible" film, yes, it's the worst SW film, and yes it's not a brilliant film. But, I think it still has that bit of magic in it, Jake Lloyd was the arsehole that ruined it.
