Well, it turns out that he bought a car at auction with a broken a/c system to get it cheaper, and then had the a/c system fixed. It could be that they botched the job. Sam's dad is taking care of the car now (especially since it happened much closer to Hastings than Lincoln.
I have no idea what I'm talking about, too. I'm just batting my eyelashes and looking crestfallen, and letting the menfolk deal with this.
