Hey, I LOVE Nirvana, no matter what anyone says. In Utero was fucking awesome, Incesticide was probably my favorite album, and Bleach was a classic. There are a few relevant, kick-ass bands out there, but they are nearly buried in the landslide of fleshy Coca-Cola automatons. Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, and Tool are just a couple. Rage is defunct, but I hope someday they bring the funk back. Radiohead has had a couple of cool videos, and although I don't like all of Björk's music, she has made some great videos. Anyone remember Peter Gabriel?

They just don't play good music any more.

Nobody watches MTV for the music, anyway. I think that's a good thing. People are back to just listening to music. Bunner, you should be happy that having good videos isn't all it takes anymore. Almost every band I listen to has 1 or less video, and some of them are selling out fairly large arenas.

Though MTV is shit, you have to admire how much money they pull in, and how efficiently they do it.

The music industry is all about image these days anyway.

With brad pushing internet music, that statement is false, MTV is all about image and always was.

People who only watch MTV to see new music, only see what is already considered "good" by the masses, people who enjoy new music still know where to look.

Maybe more people would like MTV AND they would be better if MTV played all different kinds of music. I mean rap isn't my favorite stuff, just look at my sig, but that doesn't mean that the people who do like it should all die. They need to do something that includes everyone.

I don't flaunt my metal love as much as I used to on here, but people still make fun of me. People like dcomposed.

I'm into most types of metal, especially power and gothic metal, but stuff like CoB, CoF, Dimmu, Emperor, Vintersorg, Borknagar, and other more melodic black metal have a special place in my heart. I was actually in a melodic black metal band for a while (http://www.metalhordes.com/omnimortuus), and I'm planning on starting a doomy/gothic metal band with some power metal overtones, and lots of over-the-top stuff.
