Alice In Chains? Fuck yeah, I miss them, too. I must have bought every fucking thing they've ever done. I've even got a crappy cover they did of Bowie's 'Suffragette City'.
Rage should never have broken up, godDAMMIT. Audioslave is a cheap subsitute for both Soundgarden and Rage. It's like the least attractive qualities of Rage and SOundgarden are far too obvious in Audioslave.
Soundgarden were one of the actual harder bands to come out of the Seattle thing, and they are sorely missed.
Tool opened my mind, introduced me to Bill Hicks, and through him to Noam Chomsky, so I made an effort to like Lateralus (yes, I feel an effort IS necessary), and now I love the album. Aenima is always going to be the best, though. Every fucking song on that album is gold.
I love Nine Inch Nails, but they have left much to be desired since after the collaboration with Bowie.
Nobody likes old Stone Temple Pilots?
[rant]I don't fucking classify music in genres other than the pretty standard ones like country, punk, metal, r&b, etc. I wouldn't even use those if I didn't have to, but it makes it easier to explain things to morons. And I swear, all you people who will bait me afterwards aside, I FUCKING HATE THE LABEL 'grunge'!!! Never have I been so disgusted with the need to classify things. Grunge-metal? What the fuck does that mean? Hell, the word 'Alternative' made me want to punch walls when I first heard the stuff I listened to classified as that. Like Alice In Chains wasn't metal enough to be called metal? It wasn't Death Metal, it wasn't Black Metal, it wasn't Speed Metal, BUT ITS STILL FUCKING METAL!!! [/rant]
I dabbled in serious metal for a while, and got really into Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Brutality, and fell in love with Testament. But now I like a smoother ride through my rock'n'roll, and I go for bands most like TOol, Chevelle, and the Deftones.
