It can't be jerkcity, because a jerkcity character appears in the first fully compliant strip. By my calculations, the only other possibility is pennyarcade. Characters from all the other sets appear in strips that follow rule #5. So, I will guess that rule #5 forbids characters from threereasons, dieselsweeties, lifeinhell, and pennyaracade. However, I don't know what these four have in common that distinguishes them from the others.

That's very close to the rule I just came online to post. I omitted the part about the first panel, but based on "Pick your porn supplier," I think you're right. I thought it might be 2 and that this strip was iffy on it, because it wasn't used as a place name, but the second fully compliant strip disproves this.

I disagree. Aesoporiphic breaks rule 8, because it has no simile in it. "Hotter than Seven of Nine" is a straightforward comparison between two similar things, and I think this is the closest thing to a simile that this strip has.
