Personally, I don't think DexX was out of line.

Some have said that a teenager's logic and debting skills aren't up to the task of having a real dialouge in this forum. To which I say a) kids these days are sharper than you think and b) hey, it's a great chance for them to hone those skills, if they're up for it.

For what it's worth, I happen to like both Nate and DexX. Oh, Nate and I are on different ends of the religious spectrum, but he is basicly a good kid, even if he suffers from foot-in-mouth disease sometimes. Considering his beliefs, he is actually surprisingly well-adjusted and able to function (mostly) in our decidedly irreverent community.

To be honest, I thought I was the resident asshole around here. Surely I'm more of an arrogant piece of shit than DexX is? I'm quite offended that Dorkrod has lurked around these forums and never felt the need to tell me what a dick I am, which makes me think that it is just someone else under another assumed name who feels the need to blast DexX.

But, since we're trying to clear it up, it certainly isn't me. If I had a problem with DexX, I'd just come out and fucking say it, but I don't, so I haven't.

I can agree that the religion thread was a bit much, Nate did get his ass hammered, but then, if a child touches a hot stove and burns it's hand. Then goes and does it again, and again, and again. Sooner or later, you have to just shot the stupid kid and get a new one.

Everyone else seems to be posting an opinion, so I guess I will too.

[u]DexX[/u]: Sure, he's grumpy sometimes, as he himself admits. But it's really nothing compared to some of the jerks I've met online. And I think his track record (partly detailed above) shows that his heart's in the right place.

[u]dorkrod[/u]: I believe he's a lurker. And no, that doesn't have any bearing on whether he's right or not. But let's suppose I regularly use my telescope to spy on the people who live across the street. Do you think they'll let me have a say in which type of wallpaper they should put up? Dorkrod's statements are matters of opinion, and frankly, if you don't participate in a community, you can't expect its members to care about your opinion on their internal affairs.

[u]Nate[/u]: When I was his age, I got into worse arguments than these all the time. Thankfully, since then I've learned some things which I trust he'll learn in the not-too-distant future. I don't think he should leave. I do think he should try to develop his skills in the areas of (a) choosing his battles and (b) having a solid argument ready. If he has better evidence to support his claim that Catholics aren't Christians, I think he should share it. I also think some people around here could stand to be more patient with him.

I think we're all too paranoid. Maybe dorkrod is just that. dorkrod. We need new players in the big game that is Stripcreator. And anyone that can spell and puncuate can't be all bad.

Let's just hope he/she is funny, 'cause we sure as hell aren't.

PS - I like DexX. And I'm not just saying that because I intend to crash on his couch someday.

Dorkrod, I find it extremely amusing that your only contribution to these forums is to abuse me, in which abuse you claim that I am too abusive. I have said it before, and I will not doubt say it again: Unintentional irony may very well be the most satisfying form of humour.
