Most Americans agree with Il Shmucko in neither knowing nor caring enough about bombing Iraq to form a real opinion on the matter. But Washington is our government, supposedly acting in "our interests," and we live in a free country, and so we have a duty to find out all we can about what Washington is doing and to make it behave like a civilized government. Otherwise the blood is on our hands.
I agree with what DexX and Andy have said. Here has been the result of US "precision" air strikes in Iraq: Bomb now and die later. Our "military" targets have included everything from power plants to bridges and roads and even sewage and water treatment plants. What happens when you destroy all the clean water in a major city? People get cholera and die horribly, especially those least able to defend themselves, i.e., children, the sick, and the elderly. How this is different from dropping actual cholera on the population is beyond me. And yet we are ready to do it all again because Saddam might have biological weapons!
What do we call spraying Agent Orange all over Vietnam? Was that a biological weapon? If so, should Washington be bombed? How about when Bush v. 1.0 heard about his buddy Saddam's gassing of the Kurds and responded by petitioning Congress for more weapons and training for Saddam's army? Was that sponsoring terrorism?
This is such a monumental exercise in hypocrisy that words fail me.
