When I did tech support it was for a shitty product with a huge pile of bugs, absoutely no desire from the company to fix any of these bugs, and a userbase that was 99% newbies. Can you believe I lasted almost a year? Going back to university saved my life.
I am glad that mine was 100% email, with no phone contact (except for the occasional wanker who didn't understand and got the number out of the phone book). Still, it was a fucking nightmare and I am glad to be out of it.
I would not have been able to curb my sarcastic side well enough. I was too defeated by that bitch on the phone to be overly sarcastic. In many of my other calls, when I knew I could get away with it, I was like "the company's computer guy" on SNL, only a bit more subtle. In text, there'd have been proof (albeit only to people who can read sarcasm), so I would have been canned.

Incidentally, I believe that you, LadyJ, are the first woman I can remember ever using the word "cunt". I use it myself when I am extremely pissed off, but you are right - it is the last swear-word. I thought it was a men-only word.
Men only? Fuck that.
In any event, my mom used to use it to describe women whose bitchiness exceeded the ability of the word "bitch" to quantify. It was rare, but good ol' mom said it.
My mom told me as I was growing up that it was okay if I learned curse words, because I'd need something to say if ever I hit my thumb with a hammer.
I picked up my acerbic attitude and verbal sparring style from living in an apartment with only my mom and my sis for 12 years. The three of us evolved the ability to make one another cry, while simultaneously becoming immune to conventional attack. My mom's boyfriends were utterly horrified at how arguments would go in our household. The man she ended up marrying didn't know how to hold his own in an argument with me and very nearly hit me out of frustration. My mother witnessed that and kicked his ass out. He died lonely and alone a couple of years later.

I am a delicate fucking flower.
