Asia has always radiated lethal doses of blow-dried suburban vulgarity. It's not even one of those things that used to be cool but is now embarrassing. There was never a time in history when you could go to a party and put on an Asia record and hope to get laid by anyone there, ever, even months or years later. You would forever be that dork who put on the Asia record at the party that time. Asia records are like big ornate poofy castles made of spray cheese all airbrushed in pastel colors. Pardon my ignorance. I had thought the point of music was to enjoy it. But as you have just made clear, the point of music is to be cool, which means to fit in and be like everyone else. I guess I have been going about music all wrong. Instead of paying attention to my own reactions to music, I should have been checking up on what is hip and cool to shape my tastes accordingly.

Yes, on further reflection, I have realized what it says about me. Despite being completely unaware of wanting to have sex with men, I am gay nonetheless, because I like queer art and music. Apparently, I have been a very foolish person, imagining that if I didn't want to have sex with men that meant I wasn't gay.
