This morning I dreamed a sarcastic radio commentator was berating all of us here at Stripcreator. The only sentence I remember verbatim is: "And Wirthling isn't worth the paper he isn't printed on."
That would have been a bullseye, except that Wirthling (not to mention the rest of you, even Crabby) is infinitely funnier than all the printed strips put together. Pulp a week's worth of funnies and try to extract the raw wit, and all you'll get is a giant sucking sound.
This can't be a coincidence. I don't think a bunch of random geeks on the internet could be that much smarter than Garry Trudeau or Mort Walker. I think it's the print medium itself that forces them to be unfunny, because they have to avoid offending a bunch of octogenarians who only read the funnies so they don't have to read the obituaries first.
So in a way, it's a compliment to point out that we couldn't get in print. Except there's no money in this.
