I'd like to know if anyone knows who sings this song and the name of the song. I heard it on the radio and the lyrics are as follows (more or less):
"Don't cut me out.
Don't let your dreams slip away
down the space between the wall
and the bed in the room where you sleep."
That last part is questionable. I only heard the very end of the song, and the DJ didn't give the name, of course.

During high school circa 1985-86, I went on a French Club trip to Quebec. While staying in Montreal, we were treated to the musical stylings of a man and his guitar. The name I remember is HAROLD MCNEIL, but I'm not sure if that's right. He was billed as "the troubador of Canada" or something like that.
What I remember most is that he wanted us all to sing along to Billy Joel's "Piano Man," which hardly any of us knew, and he smelled of alcohol--probably vodka.
If this guy sounds familiar to anyone, please let me know who he is. It's been bugging me, and search engines have yielded no solid results on that name. It's likely that I still have the trip itinerary, but it's hidden away in some unknown
box at my mother's house.
Thanks, umfum
